Impactful Investing: Philanthropy Trends for Racial Equity, Democracy, and the Environment
On Wednesday, April 5th at 1:00 pm EST, we’ll be hosting the first Orr Group TALKS of 2023 with Janiece Evans-Page, Chief Executive Officer of Tides Network. Janiece will be joined in conversation by Craig Shelley, CFRE, Partner and Chief Growth Officer at Orr Group, to explore current trends in philanthropy, with a focus on the progress and opportunities of growing investments in racial equity, democracy, and the environment. Janiece Evans-Page is the Chief Executive Officer of Tides, a nonprofit and philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing social justice. Janiece is leading the organization’s mission to shift power to and strengthen the power of BIPOC community leaders and others who face systemic barriers to opportunities. In addition to her experience working across sectors, Janiece’s lifelong passion for social and racial justice fuels her leadership of centering Tides’ and other organizations’ work in equity to advance systems change. Ms. Evans-Page's extensive career as a transformational leader spans sectors and functions, with a clear focus on social impact. Prior to joining Tides, she served as the inaugural Chief Sustainability and Diversity Officer at Fossil Group and Head of Fossil Foundation. In this role, she launched Fossil Group’s global philanthropy practice, leading the strategic development of its social impact investment portfolio and environmental sustainability framework.
Craig H. Shelley, CFRE
Partner & Chief Growth Officer @Orr Group
Craig is a trusted partner and advisor to the nonprofit sector’s most ambitious leaders. He advances the missions of nonprofits by bringing a change-management and entrepreneurial approach to strategy, organizational development, fundraising, and board optimization. In addition to his direct work with clients, as a Partner and the firm’s Chief Growth Officer, Craig helps to set the course for Orr Group’s continued success. He leads our Impact Group, focused on identifying and meeting the needs of our nonprofit partners and projecting our best practices and viewpoints across the sector, as well as our Growth Team, which is responsible for our brand, marketing, communications, thought leadership, and business development efforts. Craig is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and frequently speaks at conferences and publishes articles on leadership and philanthropy.
